Need Help with 2002 SP 700!
#11
Finally got back to the 700 today and did a compression test. The repair manual states 150-170 psi +/- 15%. I got readings of 130psi on the right cylindar and 135psi on the right. With the +/- 15% on 150psi I think the bare minimum would be 127.5psi so I think I'm good. Besides, the rings are brand new and the bores are freshly honed and it was about 40 degrees in my shop.
So,
the compression is good.
The carb is good.
The fuel pump is good.
The fuel shut off is good.
The air filter/system is good.
Primary and Seconday engage.
Spark plugs are new.
When I took the plug wire off the right plug to do the compression test the plug wire fell apart so I think this may be the culpret.
