Crankshaft bearing replacement ? 400 sport
#1
When I replace the crankshaft bearings in my 400 sport , do I put the bearings on the crankshaft or in the cases ? Just wondering which is the easiest and least likely to break anything.
Thanks,
D.

You want to put them on the crank shaft......heat them with a propane torch for a few minutes but don't get them to hot (to hot and it will turn blue) look for a hint of smoke from the oil residue from the factory (REMEMBER A BLUE COLOR IS BAD!!!!!!!!!!!) then with a screw driver pick it up and slide it on the cold crank it will fall right into place.
Let it cool for a couple hours and install case's on the crank.
Hope this helps.
