A 250 will be a good quad to start off with.
Let us know if you buy it.
If we can help, let us know.

Just in case you haven't checked, NADA for that year has a low value of 1170.00 and a high value of 1540.00.

You said the trailer is worth 1500.00, so I'd make sure it was in pretty darn good condition before I did an even trade.

ask him if the piston ever went out, if it did and it was not properly replaced your setting yourself up for a good 1000.00 in expenses.

I wiseco piston MUST be purchased for one of these bikes.

I got in touch with the owner today. We had been playing phone tag for the last 24 hours. He said that it is liquid cooled and says it is a 400CC, so I'll see when I get there. He said that he has owned it for the last two years and the piston has never gone out on him. Hopefully it is as good as he says it is and as good as it looks. I'll be off to go look at it tomorrow evening. I'll give you guys an update when I get back. Thanks again for all your help.

Be really nice if you had a compression tester to take with you too.

x2 to the tester, but as a warning the stock pistons have failed on stock machines with good compression don;t be like me and think everyone else is nuts replace it with a wiseco and save the headache.

If you really want to get some good advice, call Rick atRitter cycle, if you call him, he'll give you all the pointers on what to look for, and if there is a problem, how much it would cost to fix.

Plus he's the man if you want to do some upgrades.

Here is the update. I got there yesterday and it is a 250CC, it had 400 liquid cooled decals, but that was it. I did end up getting it. For a '96 it is in very good shape and runs well. It has a brand new set of tires and everything. I have been riding it around and love it. Has plenty of get up and go for now. I ended up trading my trailer for it and the guy gave me $300 cash, so I technically paid $1200 for it. It needs a fresh tank of gas and a battery and it will be perfect. Anybody know about what a battery will run me? Is it best to get it from a Polaris dealer or some other place?
