Default Tether switch hook up on Hawkeye?

Looking for any help locating the right place to hook up wires on my pro-armor tether switch. If you had done this, please shed some light on this. The local Polaris dealer did not seem to want to help. Thanx in advance

You can splice into the red/blk wire between the cluster and the handlebar kill switch under the cluster cover. This wire is supplied 12 volts from the battery through the ignition and kill switches to power the cluster and other electrical components.....

Thanx for the responces, there are 2 wires going into switch (red/ black stripe), does it matter which one. The tether switch has 2 wires coming out of it, do I put the wires inline or splice one wire in and the other to ground.

You'll need to cut the red/blk wire and connect your switch wire to each end of the red/blk. This is a fused 12 volt line so do not ground it, your tether switch will interupt power just as the key and kill switch do when turned off so the quad will not run unless your tether switch is plugged in. It doesn't matter which red/blk you splice into, one of them comes from the ignition switch feeding power to the kill switch, the other goes from the kill switch to the cluster/speedo head feeding power there so splicing into either will do the trick.....

I tried it, doesn't effect it in any way. It runs even with the wire cut, spliced the wires back together.

You must have the wrong red/blk wire, there is a fuse block attached to the upper frame rail just inside the right front strut. Pull the fuse that connects the red and red/blk wire together, there shouldn't be any power to the ignition or kill switch with that fuse removed, this is the red/blk wire you need to splice into....

Tried that, works backwards. Won't run when the tether is pluged in, take the tether off and it runs. The directions say to ground one side of the wire and the other side to splice betwen the stator and ign. coil. Have no idea where that would be. I guess i'll look for a wiring shematic to find the info. Thanks for all the help.

Well in that case your switch works the opposite if what I was thinking. You'll have to go to the black wire that comes out of the cdi and goes up to the etc switch in the throttle assembly, splice one of your tether wires to that black wire and the other has to go to ground. This will kill the engine but not key on battery power....
