Default Anybody own an Outlaw 90 yet?

I am going to buy my son a new 90. I am torn between the '06 2 stroke and the '07 4 stroke.
After my experience with a '05 Phoenix I am a little leary of a new model year machine.
The 4stroke seems like a good idea but the '06 2 stroke is tried and true machine.
Anybody have an opinon on choosing one over the other, the price is within $300 of each other so even though the '06 is cheaper it is not by a lot.
Thanks Randy

Just purchased 2 '07 Outlaws for my twin sons. The price was within $200.00 from our dealer, but the 4 stroke sold me , also the fact that the '07 also has reverse.

Not a big polaris fan, but do have on order the "tough girl" pink le 90cc outlaw for my girl, like the auto, reverse and the design of it,the four stroke and the 2 year warantee is what sold me ( with exception of it being pink) plus polaris has always been known for having the softest seat in the business. Friends have a 90cc outlaw 05 and a sportsman 90,05 just minor issues, oil injector pump bad under warantee, and the other was a stator. I would much rather see them on bikes that resemble the adults, just looks cool. My son already has a Grizz 125 auto. Right now other than the chinese, there is no other 90cc with reverse. Done the chinese thing, it's ok but they are just disposable bikes.

My sons 06 predator 90 has been a good bike so far. The drum brakes stink though. Just a little mud and water and they do not work at all. By the end of the day he has almost no brakes. After every ride I take them apart dry and clean them - pita! Also I changed the intake to the one for a eton 90 as it is much better - water tight and only $20! There is more maintenance with the 4 stroke.

What is there, changing the oil? I know that the 2-strokes have been around for a long time but let's face it, they aren't too environmently friendly, I am not I tree hugger by no means, but I thinks that is why the two stroke is being faded out, from atv's to lawn equipment. It the changing times, and the quieter you are, the less complaining you will hear. We unfortunately have enough issues with this sport.

It is all I can do to keep the 4 different oils changes in my sportsman! The brakes keep me busy enough with that predator!!

I don't like the smell of 2 stroke and it is not so environmentally friendly. However, they burn very little fuel and are suprisingly quiet.

My biggest concern would be the reliablilty. Much to my suprise after I bought it I found out it is made in China! It has it's share of little quirks with the choke/throttle sticking and cold weather starting is a pain. I would be leary of the first year of any bike (look at American made Hawkeye??) A first year Chinese made bike???

just my .02!

Don't get me wrong, I understand the issues, I'm just a firm beleiver in 4 strokes, never had too much luck with 2 strokes. But you are right, I don't like purchasing 1st year models, but it does have a two year warrantee.

Hey stemcell700 do you have any more info on that oil injector issue your friend had? On my sons 90 if you rev it hard for a long time at top speed the red oil light will come on as soon as you back off the throttle the light goes off. How did your friend find out theirs was bad other than to cook the motor? I usually put 1 oz of oil in the tank when I fill it up for cheap insurance...

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, it had to do with a blockage in the hose, it wound up messing something else also, pump or something, it was minor and under warantee.
