2008 Polaris RZR Ride Review and Video

Oohman,
Thanks for confirming my suspicion that a windshield is needed.
Now....Do you think the "half" is enough or is the "full" needed. I'd like to get away with the half if possible but "half" mudddy/wet versus "full" muddy/wet is still muddy/wet to me....

I think that a lot of good information will be somewhat 'lost' if it isn't shifted into formal topic headings: http://forums.atvconnection.co...ries.cfm/catid/85.cfm
Believe it or not, your conversation on the Rzr here is (I'm guessing) among the top 5 on the net right now and could quickly morph into a much bigger sub-community if the structure was indeed there.
The buzz on these forums is (IMO) so much different today for the Rzr than it was for the Rhino back just 4 years ago. Yet another great machine with groundbreaking potential; just not the same rabid intensity with almost part-by-part disected daily info that spawned both the historic UOR and BRP forums.
I'd enjoy contributing also; yet somebody has got to make the jump here and do it soon for the sake of finally getting this section off the ground to receive the attention this machine truly deserves.

I broke some of my main topic off this thread and put them in the other Ranger - RZR folder.
If you are wondering why i was duplicating things already mentioned.....it makes sense if someone is looking for something specific and they don't have an hour to run through ONE HUGE theread.

If you find out how to get the mount, please let us know. I really like the new Warn XT30 with remote, synthetic rope, brake and all steel construction. Emailed Warn about a mounting bracket, have not had a response yet. The Warn is available for less the $500 at several on-line dealers. After one uses the synthetic rope, that is all you want to use. Hate to buy a winch and then have to buy the synthetic rope and throw away the wire rope.</end quote></div>
I made a mount for mine it's really easy to do. it's a 5x8 piece of 1/8" plate with a piece of 2" angle (5"long) welded to the end. you cut out the center of the angle for the cable to pass through and i made gussets for the sides to make it stronger. it lays in the cavity just above the front diff . just lay it in there mark your holes with a sharpie and pull it out and drill. then put it back in there, get your winch where you want it and mark it's holes..
a little spray paint and you're done.
note.. you might want to spread the back (non angle iron piece) just a little the holes in the back are pretty wide apart, i just cut slots and used washers on my bolts to hold the back down..
anyway it's about an hours work and will save you a ton of money..
for the fairlead, you can use a standard atv (small) roller fairlead you will need to make some kind of offset to set it out away from the frame rails (their close) i just used small pipe.. i would like to drop it down a little lower as it sits high in the hole on the front, but it looks ok..

In my obeservation I noticed that the radiator hoses looks they will get in the way if your winch motor runs to the passenger side. And possibly the brake lines will be in the way on the drivers side.
The one i observed had a slot and mounts for a roller hawse but the front tubes will prevent a standard sized unit from being installed with out being modified.
Wierd that they would go threw all the trouble to make mounts holes and a pass for the cable for a roller hawse and then make it so its not mountable????

I agree and thanks.
Hope that I didn't come across as telling anyone here where to post. I just feel that the Rzr category on this particular forum has the potential to be just as good as any out there currently given the history of this site and the (quality) folks who have contributed to it in the past.
Lots of Rhinos out there and certainly more to talk about; yet I think there might be more than a few converts like myself who will enjoy watching/learning how all the branded v-twins evolve; EFI; diagnostics, etc.
