Default Trail Blazer 250 ???s

I have a '96 Trail blazer 250 that I have a couple of questions about. first, how do you get the hood off? My choke switch came unscrewed and I need to screw it in. Second, how do you adjust the chain? Mine seems a little loose. It rubs on the frame every once in a while. Thanks!

hood comes off by taking the oil cap off and then it just pulls apart. not sure if you need to do that to fix your choke.

chain adjust by losening the two bolts on the swingarm and theres 1-2 on a clamp to the left of that. then take a big wrench to turn it. it works on a cam

That is what I thoguht about the hood, but didn't want to break it. I'll take a look at the chain today and see what I can do.

You should see the tabs on the hood that clips it into the fender. May need a screwdriver to pop them.

Or a really big hammer.

I dont know how the 96 is but a 99 - you dont have to take the "hood" off to get your choke screwed back in. Mine came unscrewed before. The little black panel (where the choke and key is screwed to) has two star screws - just unscrew them and the panel will pull out enough and you can get the choke back in.

you need to loosen the 2 big bolts w/ nuts and aslo the 2 brake bolts(i think their the brake ones) and then take a punch and stick it thru the hole in the sproket that will match up to the one in the housing. when you have it in just pull back on or push forward to tighten or loosen. then retightening bolts back up. dont overtighten the brake bolts as thier srewed into the cast alummiun and will strip.

The chain isn't that bad. It's kind of one of those "once you do it" things.

The loosening of the brake caliper is what gets most people. Saw a guy trying to tighten his sons chain to no avail. He was ready to put it back on the trailer. His son looked so dissappointed. Saw what he was doing and told him to loosen the caliper, and they got the chained tightened. Look on his son's face when he found out he could go riding, priceless.
