Default CAN-AM 500 EFI OR POLARIS 500 EFI ???

when it comes to sales can-am don't even put a dent in Polaris sales, I have had darn good luck with Polaris atvs except the 03 predator. To answer you the 500 can am would most likely be faster than the 500 sportsman. I have a magazine that says the can-am 500 is faster than the Honda 700 rincon. My opinion the 500 sportsman is a better machine, Your going to get all kinds of opinions on this post. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I believe Fits-of-Rage had a story in the yamaha area about towing a new Can-Am out of the woods that hit a tree. The driver was ok but the quad was totalled. He mention that the frame looked awful weak, problably trying to save weigh. I will try to find it, it was some good reading.

The story I was talking about is in Utility ATVs under grizz in a thread that Instigater started. On down Fits-of-rage told of seeing a Can-Am wreck. Some good reading.

Hydraulics can definitly "slam" and when a Bomb is stuck with 3 wheels in mud and one tire in the air spinning it doesn't progressively engage from what I have witnessed on 3 of 4 bikes I ride with. There is a definite bang as it engages.

As far as mud and snow, all 4 of my Bomb buds were impressed with my Scrammy and the stuff it went through and thier jaws drop when they watch my SP go where no Cat has gone before lol

But like I always try to say is to each thier own, Try them out as much as you can before you buy

Well, if a vico lok is "slamming" in, there is something wrong with it because what part of progressive is not understood here???

there was a fellow that had some videos on here with the 800 sportsman and outty 800 and said the outty was bad about getting the belt wet and had to pull it back to where ever. The guy that had the sportsman did not like the outty. I assume the pluming is the same on the 500 outty.

I completely understand what progressive is. I'm not 6 years old.
What I don't understand is why these bikes are progressively "slamming" in, Cause it's not just on one bike, It's all of them.
But I don't really care either cause I don't have to ride one. I'm more than happy with my choice in ride

Well and another thing to think about is how fast do you want to go? Most people say without even thinking "As fast as I can!" I'm curious how many of these people have taken a ATV up to 60 mph on a trail. Maybe I'm just getting old, but that was plenty fast for me. And I could have went faster. But I thought I felt the rear end start to fish tail a bit and that was enough for me. Maybe it's more of a acceleration issue.
