Default Sportman 500 brake piston question

I am in the process of redoing my brakes. When taking the pistons out I did not pay attention what direction they go. If I am not mistaken I beleive the front brake pistons went in with the opening to the inside, and the rear was opposite with the opening facing the rotor. Does anyone know????

First off, why did you take the pistons out of the calipers?

And any pistons i have seen have the "opening" facing out. If the "opening" was in you would have a big pocket of fluid and the possibility of air being trapped inside

Good luck
