Default setting valves

Is it possible to set the valves on a 2006 500 sportsman myself or do I need to have the dealer do it? I used to have a Honda and I did it myself.

i would think as long as you know what the setting would be. im not sure if there a shim type or not. would have to find that out from someone who has done it.

yeah it is pretty easy, just have the piston at top dead center on the compression stroke and adjust them to .006".
You will need a new rocker cover gasket also.
