Default MORE POWER!!!

is it possible to change the gear ratio on a sportsman??? .. it is not a simple as a helix is it???

so its not a simple as a different helix in the secondary,,, just thinking here... i do not know alot about the pvt system... what exactly does rear helix do...

basicly it it controlls the shift rate up and back shift. the differnt angles and spring pressure determens where it shift at. if you had more pressure on the spring it will turn up at faster and peak rmps faster thus giving you more bottom end but loosing top end. at least this is how it works on the pvt on the sleds so assuming roughly the same thing on the atva. someone please correct me if im mistaken. the trans it self could be changed gear ratio but personally i wouldnt think it would ever be worth pulling apart.

dont touch the sprockets....its will completely throw the 4wd system off

there is no chain to change lol. if you had a 2 wheel drive sproket/chain machine by changing the sproket sizes yes you can get more speed or less speed and more low end speed. thats basicly what fooling w/ the clutches do.

YEA I WAS TALKING ABOUT MY WIFES TRAIL BLAZER, IN KNOW MY SPORTY DOSENT HAVE CHAINS... SO WOULD CHANGEING THE HELIX GIVE IT MORE BOTTOM END .. DONT REALY CARE ABOUT TOP SPEED... THERE HAS TO BE WAY TO GET MORE TORQUE,, PEOPLE RACE LAWN MOWERS....THERE HAS TO BE A WAY...

I think in a sense you can "gear down" a sportsman by using a clutch kit. Because the clutches will engage at a different RPM.
