Refilling chaincase oil in Scrambler 90 ?
#1
What is the capacity on the chaincase on a 02' scrambler 90 ? Also, I removed the filter behind the cover on the case that exposes the kickstarter mechanism. How do you clean and lube the kickstarter ?
Thanks,
D.

I would really like to work on my daughter's 90 tonight . Does anyone happen to know the capacity and how to clean and lube the kickstarter that is behind the filter ? Also, do you lube this filter just like the airfilter for the carb.
Thanks so Much,
D.

I don't know about the filter behind the kick start, try and track it down to wherever it goes. As for the kick start, you will need to take the cover off, it has a gasket behind the cover so be careful. I have a 50 scrmabler, and I lubed its kick start. What I did, I just started taking the cover off, and whatever I needed to take off to get the cover off. One bit of advice, take the foot well off. When you get the cover off, you should be able to figure out what to grease, if I can remember right, the kick start just goes into to a "gear" on the motor, and the spring is a coil (similar to an old pull start on a 3-whlr). I cleaned mine with some carb cleaner, and sprayed with wd-40, if you some 6 in 1 oil, it would probably work better.
Also, check the manual and see if there is a spec for it. You might look on polaris website and find the service manual on it under Riders menu, you should be able to find it there.
Hope this helps,
Pat

How about the capacity of the chaincase/crankase ? I found out it takes the Polaris AGL synthetic lube and I bought a quart but I don't know how much it takes to fill it . And I have't found anyway to check how full it is.
Thanks,
