I like the fact that the Artic Cat does not have to replace a $300 Speedometer just to get its 4WD back up and Running though.

Funny thing is at one time Polaris did not involve its (EXPENSIVE) speedo in the AWD system. Plus the" EXPENSIVE MUST HAVE" speedo is located up hight on the handle bars! The first thing to hit the ground on a back flip or roll over is that pod. On my friends 600 Grizzly we back flip it and the speedo is in such a location it would be hard to break it in a accident, but even if he did somehow break it he could chose to fix it or not where we have no choice if we want 4wd.
My plan was if I ever smashed the pod off was not to replace it but to change the name of the bike from a 500 "Sportsman" to a 500" Xplorer".
All Polaris ATVs have the same AWD system but some models do not even have a speedometer, yet still have AWD! Such as the .Hawkeye,Scamblers,Xplorers,325 Magnium,.

Stuck in four wheel drive after ive bypassed the speedo
Ive done this bupass on my 2000 sportsman 500 and its now stuck in 4x4??
PAPolaris, first of all I live East of Pgh, I replied to your post from a hotel room in Dayton Ohio last night and was West of Pgh at that time, it was a long day.
The brown/white wire (wire E) on the speedometer is where the AWG system get the ground to make it work. 12 volts on this wire would be normal with the AWG system on and the 6 prong plug removed.
You can "test" the AWG system by bypassing the speedometer. Remove the 6 prong plug and use a straighten paper clip to slide the brown/white wire out of the 6 prong plug. Put the 6 prong plug back on the speedometer and tie the brown/white wire to ground. If the AWG system works you can leave the speedometer bypass, just be careful when you turn on the AWD switch.
I would also test the other wires going into the speedometer before I replaced it.

You may have a mechanical problem in one of the hubs, magnetized armature plate, needs a fluid change, etc if you just jumped the brown/white speedo wire to a good frame ground or to a brown(common ground) wire and the awd system locks in on one side or the other even in two wheel drive. Plus another grounding problem was from the hub coil ground wires themselves. Just make a common ground for these two brown/white wires shown in the video. Rule out any hub mechanical problem also.
