Default loose steering 500 magnum

Anyone ever replaced the upper and lower bearings on 500 magnum steering column?
how big a job is it ?
Could a regular guy with a little mechanical aptitude complete the operation?
i have replaced inner and outer tie-rod ends but still have slack in the steering, the upper bearing definately gone prob because i have'nt greased the zerk as its hidden!
thanks

The upper is probably OK. I think it's the lower. It is a plastic bushing that is fairly cheap. It is attached by rivets, which is the hardest part of the job to remove. Could be filed or a small Dremel tool to zip them off. I replaced the rivets with bolts and Ny-lock nuts so it was serviceable. Make sure the attitude of the bolts doesn?t interfere with the inner tie-rod boots when you put it back together.
