Any front diff problems on the 800's ONLY!

The best way to know is to go to this link of Polaris Parts number of all there machines, if the front diff parts numbers are the same on there 500,600.700 and 800 than the 800 will be no better. Polaris Part number for all makes and years.

i dont know if the pn# is differnt or not bu ti was told by the dealer that the 05 was diff. then the 06'. dont know if its true or not but when he order parts for mine last yr he go the 05' ones and they wouldnt fit.

The only fix is to buy something else or keep putting the money into the one you have and with as fast as there breaking thats going to be alot of cabage at about $400 a pop.
We have two in are group with under 500mi. doing this and one is mine and Im sure not looking forward to fixing every 4 to 500mi..

We have 7000 miles on our 97 SP500 with the the original front end. Is this just a problem on later models and if so what year did it start happening?

The older ones like your dads is completly different setup. The older ones engage in the hubs. The newer ones are in teh diff. I think it is around 2001 or2002 with the newer style diff.
