Outlaw 525
Instead of bragging about your brother's outlaw, do this
RACE A 700RAPTOR, 450R, YFZ450, DS650, AND LT500R (QUADZILLA)
Let's see if the Outlaw 525 is really the fastest stock quad....... I doubt it, but maybe so
But i bet the outlaw will begin losing races against 700raptors when you pipe them and remove airbox lids on both.
I think if you mod the 525outlaw, you wont see nearly as big power gains as you would on a raptor or a banshee because the rappy and shee are really plugged up in stock form, but the 525 is already "unplugged" in stock form, so it will never see as big of gains mod for mod. Thats why polaris says its the fastest stock quad, cuz they unplugged it and let it breathe fire in stock form. I doubt that the outlaw525 is still the fastest stock quad when all its competitors and itself receive better pipes, filters, and no airbox lids
sorry to bash your brother's quad, but i hate how manufacturers claim they are the best, and i hate the polaris duel that polaris won by DEFAULT because the antique japanese ceo's were having hip replacements and what-not and had to forfeit.

Outlaw 525
This is from a guy who has a heavily modded Raptor and just went out a bought a Outlaw 525. He went to the dunes with it, and this is what happened.
Ok heres the facts. with stock 525 and stock jetting
1st Yes it will beat a bone stock Raptor 700 by about 3 lenghts.
2nd Yes it will beat a 700 with no baffle and no lid by about 1 lenght
3rd It will not beat a 700 with a pipe and filter
4th It will destroy most 450's with bolt ons
The facts with 525 with no baffle or lid on air box and stock jetting
1st It will now trade wins with a 700 with a pipe (but not the 2 with the lte)
2nd It would beat some banshee's
3rd It did get beat by a ltr but the guy wouldnt say what he did to it.

Outlaw 525
2 things: 1 according to the service manual, the Outlaw 525 actually has 11inches of rear travel. (the manual's not avaiable yet, but my dealer printed the specs pag, the valve adjustment page, and the oil change pages for me)
2: The Outlaw 525 has a lot of untapped potential, the 148 jet is WAY lean, to make emissions. I suggest you goto www.ktmtalk.com and read about jetting there. The consensus is pretty much the JD jet kit, with the Blue needle on the third notch, and the 162 main. (168 maybe if you're as cold as it is here in MI.) 170 in the 0 - 20 degree weather with no airbox lid. Anyway, 168 from 148 is a 13.5% increase in jet size and will deliver a LOT more fuel, and make significantly more power. Dynos show that the airbox lid coming off grabs over 3 horse BEFORE rejetting it! (look for those dynos on atvriders.com forums... they have a link to them.)
P.S. my Outlaw is delayed because Polaris has some sort of update that their doing to them, from what my dealer has been told. Should be shipping this week, or next. Contact your dealer for more info, there's supposed to be a service bulletin. Not sure what it is... but i wouldn't be surprised if it's the jetting, b/c w/ 148 the plug is white in this cold weather.
