Default plastic hose vents

I am not mechanically inclined so I hope someone will tell me why the Sportsman has plastic hose vents coming off differentials, transmission etc, I never noticed any on my Honda 4 trax and why is there an oil tank instead of just putting oil in engine. Thanks...

Default plastic hose vents

its a dry sump meaing oil is stored in the tank vs. the engine. the hoses would be vent lines so pressure doesnt build up. most all rear end on cars, trucks or what not has vents.
