2007 500x2 questions
#1
Hello all,
I pretty new to the forum and ATVs. I've been riding street a while but not much in the dirt. I just bought my first quad a 2007 500x2. I have only ridin it about 19 miles, but so far I pretty pleased with the bike. I am sure there are others out there that are faster but at 50 mph on a trail I am more then happy. The ride is so smooth. Anyways I have a couple of questions.
1. What is the best way to break her in??? .....are quads like cars or street bikes, break it in like you will ride it or baby it?
2. Anyone got a solution to the rear bumper or lack there of. Its kind of hard to lift to move it around...no handle.
3. Is there a quite performance exhaust out there yet for the x2...I dont need a silencer just not over 98db.
4. Anything i should keep and eye out for...possible problems
By the way Im in SoCal, near San Bernardino.
THANKS TO ALL THAT REPLY.

Ride it the way you want it to run , dont stay wide open for a long time but dont putt around, vary your speed from idle to wide open , change the oil when recommended and enjoy it. AS for the bumpers, polaris should make front and rear for it, they are well worth the money for protection. You should see 60 mph as it gets broke in,the 500 is very dependable, you'll like it.

No rear bumpers for the X2 unless you make one. I rode my 07 X2 like I stole it without any problem. I'm told after 20 miles the break in period on the engine is over. I also changed engine, front and trans oil after 50 miles. I did struggle with the correct front gear oil part number. The number in my owners manual in not valid so I had to rely on the dealer to advise what to use. (and that could be trouble)
By the way I have a 07 800 X2 Deluxe.

My owners manual for the 07 800 X2 Deluxe calls for Demand Drive LT Premium Fluid # 2876251. The dealer told me that was not a valid number and sometimes the manuals are not dead on. The dealer told me to use the number you referenced. So we hopefully are OK.
