Default HELP Anit-Freeze Resevior Empty

I bought a used 2004 Sportsman 700 about two months ago. I took it out on the trails twice and i noted the anti-freeze resevoir empty. I first drained the radiator filled it up with the polaris 50/50 mix, filled the resivior ran it, refilled the resivior ran it, and it is empty again. I can not find a leak for the life of me. I checked the oil and it is perfect, therfore i assume it is not coming into the engine. The radiator is filled, and not low. I am lost, can i get some help. Thanks

Default HELP Anit-Freeze Resevior Empty

Either it's burning it or the engine is getting hot & boiling over a little and when it cools down it's sucking water out of the tank to replenish the radiator. One thing my Scrambler is good for is if the tank is too full, all the bouncing around & wheelies causes water to be forced out the tanks cap ( the little pin hole on the top ) The only way my Scrambler's reservoir is "happy" is if the water is right at or a little below the Add mark.

I'd try changing out the radiator cap & thermostat & see if that helps.

It has not overheated, however the Hot tempeture will come on, but it is do to the radiator getting caked with mud. Once i clear the radiator it is fine.

I have never heard of the radiator burning that much liquid, however this is my first ATV. If i fill it and let it sit in my garage for a week. There is no leaks on the floor, and the resevoior is full. It is only when i run it for a couple of hours or so. I do tend to ride it pretty hard.

When you refill it you get bubbles in the system. The system will refresh itself from your resivoir til it is full & purged.

the system only holds about 2 1/2 quarts. the polaris antifreeze is 60/40 which is better then the 50/50. if the engine was burning that much it would be smoking or at least you would smell it (like a sweet naste smell) when you refilld the rad. hopefully you purged the iar out if not it might overheat because of the air bubbles. if the heat warming light came on chances are then it had alreeady or in processes of pushing the antifreeze out.
