WELL Hell's BELLs, you not joshing me are you?
No BS, Sorry no I can't... I do not even know if your machine is a 4 stroke
From what you just asked I could say that the kill switch could be mounted in the seat thread! Only kidding!
Electrical systems is like pumbing in the house trace the pipes you will find the water heater!
It can all be figured out, it is not magic.
Get a repair manual if you plan on doing this type of work!
BTW why is it only one other hit on your thread?
Usually these type of threads are swamped with ideas...
I worked on motocycles in the mid to late 60's and the basic design applyzzzz to all these small recreation vehicles

Any way start at the kill switch find the wires there and follow the bundle check all the connection.
Make sure there is no disconnects or broken wires.

Wires are color coded you will be able to find the components that way.
Sorry that is the best I can do for you! at this moment.

If I find something on the net that will help I will share it with you! Like the one below...

Maybe I'm not paying attention but what kinda of bike are we talking about? Now I'm not that bright so I (we) need more details. Is this a Kawi V-twin or some other Utility quad (you did say checked both plugs)..........Give us more info I'm sure someone can help...... Pull your plug while it's attached to the wire and turn it over while placing a screw driver in the arch of the plug. If you see a nice bright arch your obviously getting plenty of spark (go back to fuel source) .. Here's my guess your CDI box is shoot; don't know what kinda bike you have so can't tell you wear to look....

Odd I thought only heavy equipment and 60 or early chrysler had mid year changes.
It appears that the igition system sub-parts are described in different terms...

URL here click here! Another place to look for the ignition system!
best I can find even though it a rough picture.

I think if I were to buy a new ATV, I will ignore the salesmen and ask to see the manufacturer's Parts book and the repair manual, Not the Clymerzz either.
Pain to work on something you can not find where the parts are. This thread is helping me what to watchout for when deciding to purchase!

Oh there are 2 circuit breakers located somewhere according to the s*itty wire diagram.
Can not tell if or what they go to. Your going to have to either get a real repair manual or start tracing the wires from the coil or ignition controller as they call it, to the stator or magneto as they call it!

There is also a magnetic switch in the electrical/tailight asm page What would that be fore?? Neutral safety or a deadmans switch don't know see if that is associated?

I can only ask these things to help find out what is going on!
To bad we could not get a live cam on this and do a show and tell!
Next generation of repair forums maybe

Hey! I have the same strange problem. My 2003 700 sportsman no longer want to start.
My first impression is that no gaz is comming to engine. I will make some test. Think
maybe carburator problem.

you should start right at the battery abd make sure its fully charged and make sure all wires are tight. then start tracing from there. there is a couple of circuit breaker in the wire harness myab efind them to rule out them. i couldnt seem to locate a cdi box. the stator is under the fly wheel.

Good morning guys. I was reading this thread. I am having a similar problem but I have no digital readout when I turn my key on. New battery Jan. 07, same year, same make. ATV ran fine 3 days ago when I parked it in my garage. Now, nothing. No lights, no winch, no readout. Any ideas?

you can do a test on your coil, disconnect one of your primary leads on the coil, and where your spark plug wire connects to the coil and hook up your multimeter leads to the primary side and the other on the secondary. check the resistance (ohms), and let us know what you get for a reading, it should be a pretty big number
