I stay with the weight that Polaris says. On mine, it's 0w-50, and I use synthetic. Mobil 1, but there are many other brands out there beside the stuff Polaris sells.
Check your manual and stick with that weight. The brand choice is yours. I say whatever you feel comfortable with.

i found a a manual for a 98 model and it said use a 0w-40 synthetic so thats probally what i'll be using . unless i find a manual for the 95 and it says otherwise. thanks for the help guys .

We have 95 Magnum 425 and it calls for 0-40..This is the same for all Polaris four strokes...My 2007 Sportsman 500 EFI uses the same oil..You can also use NAPA 1358 oil filters...HOPE THIS HELPS AND RIDE SAFE...
