800 Front Spring Upper Bushing
On a whim ordered HD springs from dealer. Replacing them (researched previous threads). Question is the on the rubber bushing at top of spring that strut goes through. What is it's position? 1st time I had too loose, and bushing fell down strut. 2nd time had middle of bushing (hour glass shaped) on last spring wind-seems like too much rubber above spring. Will tear other side apart tomorrow and take a more careful look. This wouldn't of been too bad if I paid attention! Thanks for any help!

Scrammy, guessing the bumper, fits inside the top of spring, about 3 inches long, round, hour glass shaped which strut goes through. Does not bolt on, but appears to compress at last spring wind. When I took stock one off, I just pushed it through fairly easily but did not take note as to how far out of the spring it was. Hope this makes sense. Called dealer on my seat not sitting level, asked him about soft front, said $60 for HD springs....OK. Read all your info on install, good info.

When you put it back together, just put it on the shaft of the strut, then put your spring on. It doesn't matter where you put it on the strut shaft. When you get it together and ride it, the bumper will push up the shaft and find it's home. It's only there so give a bit of cushion when the suspension bottoms out. Just make sure you do put it on otherwise the strut will hammer itself to pieces when it bottoms out. Usually I pull the bumpers down to the bottom when I go out for a ride just to see how much my suspension moves and see if I need to stiffen or soften my ride.

That makes sense. I couldn't figure out where exactly due to its shape. H3ll, I could've had them both done already. The instructions don't even reference that piece. Also I thought due to the shape of the spring cup, it needed to be against the cup. Springs don't have part #'s but instructions do. Think they are Ranger springs. Hope to get rid of the body roll, also tires starting to camber in at top already with stock springs. Thanks for the help.

Got springs on this morning. Raised front almost 2 inches over stock. Have to put my front box back on still. Just rode around a little, need to get out on trail to see how much harsher, but doesn't seem all that much different. Can tell when I step on machine, not as much lean & bounce. This is Polaris heavy rate front spring kit, p/n 2876153. $60 from Breese Lawn & Garden. Anyone else using these? Results? Simple install other than my confusion on the strut bumper.

Stendori/gould62- yes, put them on the 800, total was $70 ($60 for 2 springs, $10 ship). Found another part # for individual spring-#7043094, also states 128#. Kit # is 2876153 which is both springs and instructions. They look very similar to Scammy's EPI springs in his pics. These springs were slightly taller than stock (only 330 mi on stock), and thicker diameter. Instructions say "Heavy rate front spring kit for 05-07 sportsman." Took measurement before and after, raised just under 2". Dealer told me about 1.5" lift and similar ride-we'll see.

Please tell us how they do, mine front end sags pretty bad, hoave the brush guard up front with the factory warn winch and the box loaded with a bunch of shat. I have less than 200 miles on mine!
