shifter adjusment on a 94 400
ok, this bike before i ripped it apart, did run very well, but i was having a shifter problems, sometimes u can go to high and reverse fine but low it would act like it was gears grinding, then started to do it alil in high and reverse, so today i checked it and the nuts on the tie rods was lose, so tighted that down, i tried to adjust it but seems like when u shift it in any gear seems like if u rock it then it would go in gear, is this normal?maybe while its running it will shift better? , hmmm
whatcha think?
Thanks

ok i adjusted the linkage, fired it up and seemed fine, but after running for awhile seems like it goes into low ok, but high and reverse (not all the time but sometimes) it doesnt want to go in gear, just grinds, so i thought maybe it was the idle, at first i couldnt get it to idle down, then i couldnt get it to idle up and even at a low idle it doesnt seem to want to go in gear, so i was goin to change oil but of course no polaris gear oil, could i use 30w nodetergent oil? and do u think that i got high and reverse linkage alil outta wack?or my carb?
Jeremy
PS this bike will idle, and run fine, just seems like i can get it low or high idle not in between

Put tranny in nuetral, unhook both rods from the tranny end, adjust rods so fittings are straight with the holes on both ends, thats all to the adjusment .Make sure rod ends arent worn and have alot of slack, if it doesnt adjust there's something wrong in tranny.
