Changed Transmission Oil- Now have problems...PLEASE HELP!!!!
#1
Hi,
I am new to this forum but I have what seems to be a serious problem. I changed the transmission oil on my '04 Sportsman 600 today and ever since I'm having problems...I wanted to go on vacation Sunday so I need to get this fixed ASAP...I would appreciate any help!
Here's the problem: After changing the Transmission Oil, everything works fine, except when I try to accelerate and the RPM comes close to 4000, I have to let go off the throttle, otherwise the engine will eventually just stall. I'm not sure if this explanation serves right, it's really hard to explain. For example, when you are in reverse, there is something that blocks the ATV from going more than 7Mph or something, it seems like something close to this is happening when I drive forward, meaning that it just loses power but the engine will stall if I don't let go off the throttle...does anybody know what this may be? I checked the transmission level and put in 400ml like the instructions said. The product I purchased was pointed out by the rep at the Polaris Shop: ATV AGL Gearcase Lube.
Thank you so much for any responses!!!

I'd get a second opinion on that one.Sorry I cant offer more than that but dont worry .....there's plenty of gearheads on here that will help you just give it a couple hours..

I am just starting to stress because I was going out of town riding Sunday through Thursday so I have to do something about it first thing tomorrow.

might just be a coincidence...maybe you bumped the carb and moved some dirt into the needle...sounds just like a carb problem to me... its quick to take off and check and an easy fix if you can just clean it out.
good luck!
good luck!
