Wheel winch ????

Has anybody had any experence with that winch that attaches to your wheels? thanks

I have not ,but it is in FEB issue of dirt wheels
page 166 'Walker Wheel Winch' (770)957-7411 and the price listed is about $400.00. Its does look pretty handy, but if you are in mud up to the fenders, you will need a shovel to get to it.

While it does seem like a good idea, my guess is it would wreak havoc on axle bearings from all the side loading.

Here are my thoughts on it. If you need a winch, you are probably pretty deep in the muck. Do you really want to dig under the mud or whatever to set up that wheel winch? Especially when you can get a regular winch for the same or less money.

You can get a Warn 2000 winch for around $299 & the Warn 2500 for $350. If I was going to spend $400 it would be on a winch that is proven. If the wheel winch was $100 or so, I might consider one.
