stendori, here is the link you posted
http://www.http.com//www.atvonlinemagazine.com/(rest of link)
if you remove the www.http.com// from the link it works

Its an interesting video (because I pickup my Polaris this Saturday). Now I know what to expect, but it seems that just using the brakes solves the problem?

Nothing was as bad as when I owned the Xplorer 250cc 4x4. No EBS at all. Going down a steep hill in 4wd low you had to actually punch the throttle to get the transmission to grab. At least the Kawasaki we had at this time had a 5 speed that you could downshift to get the rear tires to grab. I've done well with the EBS. Yes, I'd rather have the ADC, but at $1400....... Next quad, I guess. On the other hand. If Yamaha came out with a Grizzly 700 two seater I might be tempted to jump ship. I really like the Polaris system, but find it bizarre that they won't just put the ADC on all their utility machines. All the other manufacturers have a better system in the 500+ cc utility machines. Why would Polaris want to be in last place in this category as far as their stock machines go?

Good info. Where's the KTM powered 800 Sportsman with ADC? Can Am did great with those descents. I know I slide sometimes downhill, but hasn't been a problem. Novice too afraid to come down them probably shouln't go up them either! Get hurt going up or down. Especially with no brakes applied!!

The reason they are in last place is the unique and slightly wierd nature of the Polaris AWD system. They hitched their wagon to the Hillard clutch years ago and because of the nature of that system it's difficult to engineer a way too keep the front end locked all the time. That's why it took 'em so long to come up with the ADC and why they are charging so much for it. I garantee the ADC system is 95% of the cost of the DLX models.

I know what your talking about, it's called "Jamming" the clutch, I have never tried it because I just recently found out about it but it's supposed too work. The areas I normally ride it's not a big deal, I almost never even need the 4WD but when I make the trip down to Black Mountain they have some seriously steep hills, the ADC or a split brake would be nice.
