Greg,
I am intrested in the event at lest the mud race in water macason slough. I am finishing the clutch kit up on my Sportsman and should be at the fun park this week end to try it out for the first time. What weekend are you talking about? The Jan 27th ride or what? I will be there for that as well as Feb. Mardi Grai ride with all my buddies that I ride with and we represent just about all brands of bikes, Polaris, Honda, Suziki, Yamaha, and Kawisaki. So let me know when and we will try to be there.

NewDSLover,
What statement is that you disagree with. I am assuming you disagree with my statement That I do not feel the need to wear a helmet when mudding. I did not say that you should not wear a helemt while mudding, and I would not try to convince someone else to go without one. I am talking about my own opinion about when I need to wear a helmet while riding. I have been riding ATV/ATCs since 1977. I am somewhat experinced. I know that does not mean I will not have an accident; however, we all take risk everday, and we all have in mind what we perceive as acceptable risk. For example... would walk down a flight of stairs with holding the rail? You may find that living on the edge and risky. I do not. It is a risk I am willing to take. I have been a freehand rock climber all my life. For you this may sound crazy... for me it is an adrenalin rush. I know this is not an acurate comparison to riding an ATV without a helmet, but I am just trying to make a point. There may be 10 minuts during the entire day, where I would agree a helmet would be wise. The rest of the time we are putting around in mud 1-3 feet deep. I know some of you guys are going to argue this point no matter what I say, and that is fine. I am not telling you what to do, and would expect the same.
BTW, I kayak without a helmet or lifevest, and I cut an apple in my hand. I am a wildman... LOL
