You can get lower engagment with heavier weights but this will take away from your topend.
I would try the EPI pink primary spring it will help you out all the waY around.Lower engagment plus better top end.

Default lower rpm engagement

I am new to Polaris with a 2005 ATP 500 Leftover. I came off a little Yamaha bear tracker 250cc with manual trans.
Mostly i use my ride for yard work, snow plowing and riding to the neighbors house (long driveway). Mine seems to cruse at 4000 rpm all the time, which I feel is a little high.

I am guessing from what I am reading that I can change a clutch spring and lower the RPM? If I use low range anytime I am moving slow, hauling weight or snow plowing, will lowering the RPM cause any additional wear?

Oh, and for those of us who are new around here, what or who is EPI?

Thanks

you can change your primary spring to get lower r's but i think most of them run around 4,000 rpms when crusing at least it seems around there on my 2. just my .02

On the wifes '05 330 Mag, I changed the primary weights to 10-56 and installed an Aaen blue secondary spring.

The Wife liked the lower engagement rpm and less motor noise. Had to put the Aaen blue secondary spring to keep if from shifting out too early. Keep in mind this was done to make the Queen happy. I used the weights out of my 700. I had changed them to 20-62 for lower engagement. We have a little over 1600 miles on them with the original belts. Del Hartline

Personally, I think all polarises come in too low already. I can't Imagine going any lower, but that is just me. Doc
