Would a DC outlet on a Scrambler be a bad idea??? The kit is $25 plus the outlet. Where would be the best place to mount it? Has anyone ever done this?

I haven't done it, but thought about it before I bought the Sportsman. I was going to get the Sportsman adapter, and cut it right into the plasic up front.

I have a DC outlet mounted on the hood of my scrambler and its great I can run anything off from it like my cell phone, cd player, strobe light, etc.
One of the best accessories I've put on my scrambler yet, accept for the dual fogs on the radiator guard.

I had one on my Sport, for a spotlight. I put it on the tube "drybox" under the left rear fender. I got a waterproof outlet w/spring lid at walmart for $8. wired it into the tail light, when the key was on, I had power. worked great.

I wouldn't spend $25 + on one. I put mine on the same plate that the speedo mounts to. I just ran the wires down to the electric panel and hooked the wires to the + and - strips (there were lots of empty slots). I bought the same one these guys are talking about. Being on the handlebars it doesn't get submerged (very often anyway). Plus I can be sitting on my quad when I want to hook up the spot light, cdplayer or cellphone charger.
