why would you shoot at something if you dont even know what it is? and even if you do know its a snake swimming in the water why shoot it? wtf thats lame! not good for your karma either. live and let live dude and grow up

 

Oinkjackson, I did it because I felt threatened at that time in my teenage life (about 25 years ago) by poisonous snakes. Probably wouldn't have ever met up with it again, but I don't know that either. I learned later that they were a protected species here in my home state of Massachusetts and for shooting illegally I apologize and will not do so again unless my wife, kids, or someone else is threatened by one in any way. I did mention that it had the classic club shaped head which narrows it down to one of two poisonous snakes. I have grown up and don't believe in "karma" in the sense that if I'm driving down the road and I can't stop in time to not hit an animal that I'm going to have bad luck. The main recipient of my "good" deeds are people first, then an animal in need. I don't equate animals and man being on the same "plain". Not that I would waste another snake unnecessarily again. I agree with the sentiment, "live and let live", but believe it was better said as, "do unto others (people) as you would have them do unto you".

 

Hey Moose, don't worry about it. I come up on those cotton pickin rattlers every day of my life in the summer out here in the desert, and have NEVER left one to bite someone else, especially my handicapped wife, or my dog or my cats or my horses or my mules or for that matter even the little bunnies, baby ground squirls, or baby quail........Karma or NO karma (whatever that is, guess at 70 I am to old to know what Karma is) ifn me sees a rattler on this ranch, he be ONE DEAD SNAKE, and that you can take to the bank !! Don't know if you can take Karma to the bank or not, cause again, I have no earthly idea what it is [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Plus my Bible says in Gen 3:14-15

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel

AND bruise his head I do before he can even think about bruiseing (BITE) my heel.....Nuff said as far as I am concerned !

wwhhooo another 10" fell. im wicked excited. and just think there taking about a noreaster coming on monday. wow how lucky could we be. these are words from a crazy man loosing his mind lol.

 

crosscountryrider, I'm not offended at all. Oink just has a different point of view than mine. Verses are right on though. I've been a thorn in the side of the original serpent for going on 25 years now. As Bob Dylan once sang (when he was in a better state of mind than presently): "I was tempted by the devil, born already ruined, stone cold dead as I stepped out of the womb, by His grace I have been touched, by His Word I have been healed, by His hand I've been delivered, by His Spirit I've been sealed." Not much bothers me personally as far as anything said about me. Don't speak ill of my wife though... :-) That is another matter. Sten, I hope that you guys don't get hit too hard again. I was watching the news tonight and they are talking about a foot or more up your way. Spring in New England doesn't always happen... I don't know how many years I remember going from winter straight into summer. It's tough on the body when it goes from 40 one day to 80 the next. Now that I ride with my buddies and my son it is a little hard to see all the bad weather. Last year we spent a day in the pouring rain riding because it was the only day of that month that we could get out together. We were soaked, almost hyperthermic, but loving it! I hope this year is a little drier once we get done with winter. ATVing is probably one of the best ways to spend time with a teenage son that you don't want getting involved with the wrong kind of crowd. Hunting is another. Fishing is a great one too! Babbling on here. Just waiting for the season to arrive so we can enjoy God's Creation. All this is just so everyone knows where I stand! Hope all have dreams filled with rides past, and future...

 

now now sten why are u doing this dam sno dance ill be bringin all the snow form mi house and the trails right down on ur front lawn sten have fun.....lol im just bustin on yea all this snow can go some place eles i could care less about it now

You guys MUST be goin crazy to get out on the trails.....I don't know what I would do if I couldn't ride at least twice a week, not to even think about a whoooooooooooooooole Winter [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

hell i would like to just get out and do some testing again. riding is still over a month a way for us w/ trails closed. ive got parts coming for my wheeler and bike and cant even work on them, let alone ride for a bit. oh well relax guys i wont loose it that easy.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

yea i hear ya there sten im just sick of this crap i want to at least ride once this summer well when the trails open
