700 vs 800 who's the KING of the Cage?
#14
R-I've owned both, and they were/are both great machines. I didn't need the 800, nothing wrong with my old 700, but the newer ones had more front suspension travel, wider front track, more storage, smaller fuel tank-what the?! I screwed up and asked dealer what he had in stock. By the time I got there, he had put together a brand new 800 camo out of the crate. Welllll.....I left with it, traded 700 in. Power difference is noticable. So is fuel consumption. $ difference was about $1000 vs the 700. I had no issues with 700 except busted suspension bolt. You would be happy with either. Like Stendori said, that power can be addicting.

I will stay out of this one. I have a sp600 and a Honda. Needless to say I ride my Honda and the sp sits int he garage. My brother inlaw bought a sp800 about 3 months ago. It has been in the shop 2 times now for warranty. The power is awsome on the 800 and you wont find a better ride but I dont trust polaris front diffs and single lever braking. Other than that they are great quads.

if you have a polaris and hate it, dont drive it, get rid of it. if you dont like a polaris dont run them in the ground. goods words to post by. but as always these are only my opinions. R, no matter which one you bought you would be real impressed w/ because its night and day between your 450 and the twins. im assuming you ment by twin it was can you have dual exhaust? im guessing yes you can. but heres a question for ya, if you plan on modding a 700 to run w/ the 800's(which im sure there not too far away) then why not spen the extra money and buy one. theres no replacement for displacement. when you want more buy bigger then mod it. lol. either way when you have a 700 it will blow your socks off and you'll be happy. remeber its not what your driving(brand wise) as it is how much money do you want to spend. oh yea and far as reliability goes onthe 700, just ask sportsman70003 since he has nos, and now a turbo on his.

From stendori: "theres no replacement for displacement."
I second that statement!
As for V2, I always like his comments on polaris and AC. I too have an 800 and a 700 and my 700 fell apart between my legs too. It was the first model year being an 02 and its been ridden hard with 4000 miles. My 800 is like a rock so far with about 1000 miles, no issues and think it was well worth the extra dough.

Yea, I meant the twin as being dual
exhaust. Okay I hear you all, why not
go for the 800 etc. etc. Its more
sticker shock than anything, higher payment
etc. I can mod at anytime, way after even
as onesie and twosies but logically why NOT
buy the 800 to begin with? Decisions Decisions!
Any know issues with either the 07' - 700 or 800?
Did Polaris fix all the heating issues from last years
(2006) model? Also, what is the latest buzz on the '08?
Would I be better off waiting for that line up?
Much obliged!
