Well the hawkeye impressed me so much I bought my wife a black/silver one today [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

The 25" mudlites work perfectly on the Hawkeye. No rubbing at all and better performance.

 

I had to cut 1" off my flares one side I had 1" between tires and flare the other I had 1/2" so I cut them so they wouldnt rub during the ride. no big deal I have asked a few friends they cant even c the cut untill I tell them

 

Is this a "small" quad actually rather than one of the big brute utes?

If so, I'm all ears.

What about engine breaking?
Can it crawl back down the hills it climbs up?

 

this hawkeye quad reminds of the day the Suzuki quad sports came out, it wasnt to big and it wasnt to small, this quad is really on the small side compare to the sportsmans and grizzlys, but the lack of metal racks hanging over on both ends make it appear smaller, its got great power for a 300 cc machine but not to much, my 14 year old kid rides all the time, I also wanted a quad that would fit with other stuff in the back of my f150 ice chest tool box and other things and it fits with some room to spare, the quad has been trouble free for me and ive ridden it fairly hard for the past 11 months, it will climb what ever you want and has good engine breaking coming back down , I have yet to wreck it or let it get away from me on a scale of 1-10 ill give it a 9.

 

I wonder if the new suspention bar and clutch will fit an 06?

 

Well, I tell ya what...

I thought I was 100% sure what I was doing for a utility.
I thought I was getting a Rancher 420 4x4 ES...
Or a Yamaha if my wife just refused to use the shift buttons.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm going to have to check out Polaris.

The reason is that for a long time I've been wanting a small utility with big utility features, such as 4x4, IRS, EBS, ect...

The entry-level ute 4x4's are as big as I can stand.
Even the rancher seemed big to me.

I want to be able to squeeze between the trees... not run them over... lol.

But they will have to let me test-ride one to see how good the engine breaking really is.
It's gotta be GOOD for when I ride it, because it will have to CRAWL down some steep stuff.
It basically needs to be as good as a manual trans w/4x4.

On a side note, what the crap is wrong with polarisindustries.com?
Anyone else having trouble with it?

I take the hawkeye hunting with me and it will go where my brother inlaws rhino wont, it really crawls well, I ride about 4 miles to my deer stand thru creeks and up rock hills , then i get to the power line hills and it does real well, But Ill be honest with you , if I had the chance to do it all over again , I would choose the honda rancher 420 hand down its a better machine---the problem with Polaris is that their financing is thru HSbc credit card Company, what they say on the website doesnt Jive with the Financing that you get , beware of the scam deals they offer.
