700 SP Engine Noise - Acceptable???
Question for all you 700/800 owners.
Do the internal engine noise levels increase with temperature on the liberty engines? My 700 SP seems pretty quiet on cold start up but after about 15 min of riding the engine noise levels increase, especially when loading up the motor on hills and accel. Are these engines just loud in nature? I've only owned 400 2 strokes and 500 4 strokes so this motor is new to me. Only has 10 hours on it.

My 07 800 X2 has a ticking noise that I hear only at idle. Otherwise it sounds awesome. It started after about 100 miles. I really can't hear it unless I sitting still. I don't know if this is valve noise or what but my lovely sales guy says this is "normal". I personally don't like the noise at all.

yea mine has the ticking, most likely form the lifter/valves but no piston slap noise. is thisa under warranty if so i would take it too the dealer to have them listen and check it out. at least they would have a record of it if something goes wrong they might be able to warranty later on.
