My buddies 02 700 had a coolant leak that he couldn't find and sure enough I read this post, went and looked at his machine, and there it was. The leak just as described above. Thanks

It was cut/worn right though the plastic protector and the coolant hose. 2500 miles

Both my 800"s where wore through the protective cover....A big thank you for posting this......I had a gates radiator hose in my shop and I cut a 6" peice(2 of them) and split them down the middle and put over my hose's and tie strapped them in place....easy fix..Thanks a bunch man...

:..We just brought in all of our twins and checked the hoses..Most were worn or almost rubbed through..We have used a lot of different fixes..the best seems to wrap a larger hose around the stock hose and split a small hose and put on the sharp edges of frame extension...one of our riders re-routed the hose (not sure how Yet)..I have contacted Polaris and amsure they will come up with a fix asap...Tell all of your friends who own twins to check this...

Would pipe insulator work? I have a bunch
of that around. Yes, I know I am not running
a twn, but my cousin has the 800.

Yes any thing to keep the hose from rubbing the frame..(this section is U shaped with the hose against it)..One of my friends put and old riding glove around it..Seriously any thing to get rid of the sharp edges..

Why isn't the bottom hose of any concern?
