Were there any improvements to the engine, or belt system for 2001?
Is that a good price for an "in the crate" 2000 SC500 4x4?

Aren't the 2001 models equipped with the new lower steering post bushing, along with braided steel brake lines?

 

All 2001 Polaris' have the steering upgrade and brake upgrade. Along with the lifetime belt warrenty also. Scramblers here last time I checked were $5700 for the 4x4 500cc. But, thats not out the door.

 

I just bought a 2001 yellow 500 scram 4x4 today for a total drive out of $6100 with a full 4 year warranty. Thats $5650 for the bike itself. Keep in mind this was a pain in the A$$ to get with several hours of haggeling with several dealers. Also im in Houston Texas so the demand issue may be a problem elsewhere. Keep in mind that the dealer "ready to sell" cost is $5262, i paid for an invoice on the net.

 

Dont pay sales tax. In Texas you can be "farm exempt" and you dont have to pay any taxes at all! The dealer writes it up however they have to to get away from you paying taxes. You dont have to prove anything all you have to do is tell the dealer that your "farm exempt". Also dont pay a dime for the dealer "set up cost" or freight or what ever they want to call it. Its a rip off and that the dealers way of making extra money....
