Hi there I'am new to this forrum My name is Doug ,I'm from ontario canada I was wondering if I could get some advice, I have a chance to buy a 2004 sportsman 600 twin the machine is a one owner bought brand new in 2005, it has only 39.5 hours and 300 miles on it, I recently had my 2003 sp 700 twin stolen, my 700 use to have overheating problems, it seems everytime I took it out I had to put coolant in the overflow bottle,beofre the next ride I was always out for no less then 3 hours with alot of low range driving up and down hills and the odd mudhole, I read that the 2003 and earlier models had problems with there waterpump covers and waterpump seals , could anyone please tell me if the 04 ,600 models have the same problems or any other engine related problems I should be aware of, are the engines the same and which one would be better ride?
