It definately has nothing to do with EBS, won't go into all about EBS but there is nothingh to make noise. Most lkely what you are hearing is the rollers hitting the HELIX ramps that is normal. Polaris has added a dampner to help with that. I don't hear any noise on mine but it may also be that I am used to it and pay no attention, that or I just can't hear that good.
The 700 clutch is used on the 700 only, the 800 clutch is used on the 800 and 500. Unless I am mistaken there is no such beast as a 2007 600. Not real sure what the difference is between 800 and 700 other than weights will do some more checking I get time.

That noise has been a topic of discussion for many years,it has been blamed on many different things. But I think it was finially decided that it is the rollers hitting the HELIX, so isn't any thing to worry about. But for the peace of mind have it checked out. I think like I said that after a while you will get used to it and not relise that it is there. With a new machine you are tuned into any and all noise and they seem worse than really are.
The reason I say it definately isn't any thing to do with EBS is that what EBS actually is a one way bearing that is on the main shaft of the primary. It is just that a bearing that will only turn one way. When you slow down the belt drops into the primary (front clutch) then if it gets low enough it begins to drag on the bearing, then you are only going as fast as the camshaft and motor is turning. That is why if you notice when EBS is engaged that if you blip the throttle the EBS will seem like it released. What you have done is lift the belt off the one way and once again the clutch is driving it.
Going down a hill and EBS cause the rear wheels to lock, just hold brake litely blip the throtle that will release the belt and you are free wheeling again. Holding the brake just keeps quad from lurching ahead when given gas.

I just bought a new 07 700 Sportsman Twin EFI.
This noise is killing me. I've had it for less than a week and it just doesn't seem right for a brand new machine to make this kind of clanking and clattering.
I called the dealer back to ask about it again and asked if I could come in and ride another just to ease my mind. He said the 600s and 700s both had the same clutch and made the same noise. The 800s however, had a different clutch and didn't make the clattering. He then said that they were out of the 600s and 700s and didn't know when they would get any more in. My paranoia meter immediately red-lined. Add to that, this dealer, I've since learned, has a terrible reputation for customer service.
Are there any other '07 700 owners out there that have this?
