ok my buddy has the sporty, friday night he was doing some heavy winching to get me out.. anyways the batt is not geting and juice to re-charge now..i dis-connected the winch and checked for voltage going into the batt and there is none..i have 14.5 volts at the yellow wires gonig into the regulator and only 2.1 comeing out of it.. did we fry the voltage regulator or pop a breaker ( where are they).. any input would be great ,i feel bad..although he DARED ME to go into the pond , he would not go first.. i always go first.. i have spent over $100.00 changeing all my fluids and STILL have a trace of water in the oil..

 

i'll bet the recifier got fried. hopefully it would be that vs. a stator assem. get that water out bud or it wont last.

 

did the winch fry it ( cheap harbor freight direct to the batt).. i have changed my oil 4 times and there is still a trace of milk .. i"ll do it again tomorow..

 

you mean theres no contacter to engauge the winch.? if you use it for a long period of time under a hard load i would think(just my opinion) that it would extremly hard on the charging system which isnt very strong to begin with.
