Like I said my is a 2006 SP 450 with 1000 miles and replaced a E.C.M.(PDM) already.......So the trouble with these is still NOT fixed!!!!!!..........Caper............

If there is a recall ....will I know about it????....Who knows......But these Forums sure help.....Keep up the good work everybody!!!!.........

yourself? Do you think I should be proactive and just

No my vin# was not listed .....They only have the 2004-2005 on there none for 2006 yet!!!
I did it myself with no trouble at all......I only did mine though..not my wife's yet!!!
There is no since replacing it .it still works!!!...Hope just a bad one ..we will see.....
Plus if there is a re-call in the furture.........The money will not be out of your pocket!!!
I could still ride my home if I had to on the trail..I would not have been stuck...Just couldn't drive with my lights on!!!!!...LOL...LOL....
The new one is very different......Larger...and with a wire harness....Also made in the U.S.A. compared to the old in China.....Still Sure Power IND. though!!!!!......

I myself would not go out and just buy two for fun.....But if you do save the old ones for spares and if there ever is a recall send them back to the dealer ......then you will have two up-dated ones................................Caper......... ...

When they do start to act up they can do alot of different things..Like I said before ......They control "ALOT"..

I just received a letter in the mail from Polaris stating the bad ECM. The letter stated clearly that the part would be replaced by the dealer at no cost to the owner.
So if any dealer gives you $hit, I would be happy to scan the letter and give to any one of you.

Too bad my dealer is about an hr away. Need to have them look at the secondary clutch too.

 

Is that just for 2005 Sportsmans???.............Did it say anything about 2006/2007??........Thanks.............................. ...............Caper.............................

What is the price on a replacement E.C.M module? I will still be keeping
the wife's 450. And b/c its the wifes, I don't ever want a "FIRE" risk even
if it means I pay for it.
