Default springs rubbing on shocks?

I just noticed today after riding for a while that the springs in the rear are rubbing on the plastic that goes around the shocks, it seems to be breaking the plastic and making a very annoying squeaking noise. I was wondering if any one else with a sportsman has this problem and what, i wonder would cause that to happen? thanks guys

Yep, all my rears have done it, must be caused by the spring trying to move laertally. Never noticed any annoying sounds though!

Had the right rear spring go on me as well after 22hrs of riding. It looked like a big C shape and was hitting the can.
Beyond my 6 months warranty so wasn't covered. Dealer gave it to me at their cost.

The black plastic piece is a wear liner designed to keep the spring from wearing through the metal sealed part of the shock. They sell replacements, just a little over $6 each but are a real pain to change.
