'98 Polaris Express questions???????????
#1
I have a '98 Polaris Express. I want to modify it. If anyone out there has one that they have modified, I would like to hear about it. If you have any pictures, I would like to see them too.
I have thought about aftermarket pipes, but there doesn't seem to be much of a selection for this particualar quad.
I also thought about changing the clutch weights, helix, and springs but not sure yet. Any advice will be appreciated...

RCR should be able to help you out with a pipe/silencer/clutching kit. www.rittercycle.com
Is your Xpress a 300 or 400? If it is a 400, then just about all the Xplorer 400 items should work on your machine.

Used to have a 400 Xpress. It looked stock, and sounded stock, but would do 70 MPH on a good day! It would do 65 about any day of the week.
Here is what was done:
Green spring installed in the primary clutch, cost - about $18
2 tooth smaller rear sprocket than stock - cost $20 to $25
K&N air filter - cost - about $25
I got the machine set up this way & took the longest time to figure out what was done to it to make it so fast. Looked stock, and sounded stock, with the stock pipe.
The Green spring increases acceleration, which made up for the higher gearing (which decreases acceleration) giving the end result of 'normal' acceleration with somewhere between 5 & 10 mph increase in top speed. Or you could leave gearing alone & have a noticeable increase in acceleration.
