Default fan overide on 500 efi

Has anyone tried to overide the fan on a sportsman 500 efi. I did it and the hot light come on rite away. Shut off and it goes away. I was thinking about some sort of diode to stop the current from going back to the pdm. I'm guessing that is my problem. Any advice THNX.

The HOT light is controlled by pin # "D" Blue/White Engine signal hot
This provides a ground path for the lamp.......Removing this will keep the lamp from comming on!!!...........Why would anybody want to remove this.......I don't know!!!!!NOT me
It saved the engine on my wife's the second ride out.........Back of rad plugged solid!!!!...Caper...

The orange and black is power to the fan.......Why not just send power to this for your override....................Then your hot light can still be connected???...Caper.........

When you pull the wires off the sensor the hot light comes on right away. I don't want that. I have the 06 and the fan and sensor are working just fine. I want to control the fan by turning it on when I want. I want to be able to leave it on for a while and turn it off just before I get thought a mud hole. Don't want it on in a hole. All I'm doing is putting power direct to the fan + wire. Is there a better way.

That switch does look nice but it will not work with the 500 efi model. No matter what I do the hot light will come on when power is applied to the + of the fan. I guess I'm just stuck getting an light to tell me when it on and that's it.

it might be the emc controls the pod w/ the fan sensor and when the fan is on when not turned on by the sensor tels the emc to turn the light on. if that makes any sence.
