I have an 04' Predator which I recently started racing this year. The quad is well broken in and never had any problems shifting last year. I took the quad to an indoor track and came down hard on a jump and the chain popped off and was lodged in the front sprocket. After fixing, I noticed I only have 2nd and 3rd gear. We removed the engine and split the crank case, and found no bent shift forks or drum problems, and tranny shifted fine during rebuild. No chipped gears either. I even took the trany half to a polaris mechanic who saw nothing wrong. He told me to check for a clutch issue. I put a friends newer clutch in after putting the motor back together. Now i only have 3rd and 4th?? If i try to downshift it goes into neutral and then upshifting it slams into 3rd. I run only PS4 Oil in it, and the motor runs great after new rings and head work. Not sure if anyone has had this issue before. Not sure if theres anything under clutch cover i can check for before pulling motor out again. Any help is appreciated!
