Default Cleaning UGGGG

well after cleaning and cleaning and a bit more cleaning my new hawkeye looks 10 years old! So I sat down to rest and picked up the Polaris handbook ...yes I did read mine now (thats a first) Anyway Polaris says to use a Pledge type clearner! wood cleaner on plastic?! well I tried it, In a matter of 20 min my Hawkeye looks like the day I loaded it up at the dealer! Just a hint for anyone else that cant seem to get the showroom look anymore.

Oh did everyone get a tool kit with their new atv? the hawkeye dont come with one, I even had the dealership look at all their other hawkeyes and no kits in them. But lastnight my book says its standard equip. any ideas?

I've found that washing it down, and drying it off, and wiping the body panels with ArmourAll works great. I use a soft flannel cloth they sell at AutoZone to "polish" it up, and remove any excess ArmourAll. Man that plastic scratches easy dosen't it?

Mine didn't come with a tool kit either. I told the dealer that the manual says it does, and he gave me a kit. My buddy just bought a Hawkeye and his came with a tool kit. Go figure.

Yea, something did happend to this whole thread late last night
hmm. Don't know! But in any event, I talked with my cousin
who owns two (2) Hawkeye (2006) and said they both
came with the tool kit. You know they put them in the
cargo box, check under the seat too, never know.

But I would call your dealer, after all the money
you spend its at least they can do, my opinion.

Hey here is one for ya, what do you use to clean
up the seat. After spraying it down w/garden hose
and soapy water, there is still mud type stain
on the sides of the seat, like it won't come out.
My friend said no matter would you do don't
put armour on it, I guess he did one time, couldn't
keep himself glued to the seat, sliding everywhere, LOL.

I spray the entire bike (except seat) with WD40. Walmart also sells a cheap version that is only $1 a can. Looks new and will never rust. Some may say that it will loosen bolts but I have not found it to. Some suspnsion bolts do loosen but hey - it's a Polaris!!! I read somewhere that you can use Pam cooking spray and it will keep the dirt from sticking and adding weight??? never tried it...

doenst the wd40 attract the dirt ( not mudding) but like on a dry day? I would think it would make a mess out of it - tell me more how it works - sounds like good idea for rust and a "water replellant"
