Default Can I run without 4x4?

Hi, My prop shaft yokes are worn out to the point they don't turn the front gear box. I took the shaft out and am running without 4x4. Will this wear parts out in the front hubs since they are designed for the front shaft to be turning all the time? Also does anyone know where to buy just the yokes for the prop shaft. $70.00 from Polaris seems to be a little high. They look alot like a powertakeoff from a piece of farm machinerey. Thanks for any info.

I don't think it would hurt anything. I don't see how it could.
