Default Engine oil

OK, I have a 96 Xpress with a 400 cc 2 stroke and Auto tranny.
I drained both the counterbalance and the crankcase from under
the skid plate. I put 4 oz. of 30 weight in the counterbalance dip
stick hole. How do I refill the crankcase , or do I? And how much
of what oil.

its a 2 stroke, you dont have any oil in the crankcase. you put the 2 stroke oil in the tank and its injected.

Well, I would agree. But why is there a crankcasr drain plug?
Also, do I drain the recoil oil and if so how do i refill it?

The recoil drain plug is just to drain out any water that may have entered. I don't think there is a crankcase plug as that could introduce an air leak.

According to this Oil Changethere is a crankcase drain plug
and I drained a teeny bit out of it. So should I drain the recoil
by removing the drain plug? I take it recoil is like recovered oil?

ya there is a crankcase drain but it's only there if you fload the motor really bad.

Only oils you need to change are the counter balancer oil, and the transmission.

Maybe you should look into taking into a dealer and pay to get your ATV serviced.

Well I wnet ahead and pulled the crankcase drain plug. Just a trickle..

I have been working on motorcycles and cars for 30years so this
will be no problem In fact I just had to pull the tranny out of my
truck in the driveway to put in a new clutch. So this ain't gonna
bother me. Just had some specific questions about the setup..
Thanks for the info.... (my Haynes manual is pretty vauge...)
