Well my wife's sled back in the 80's just quit on the trail about 15 miles at the start of a day's run........................Turned out to be the rings stuck into one side of the piston and scored the cylinder wall..................It was great after the rebuit still have that sled now......1988 Yamaha Exciter 570.....Caper..

It happens in the blink of an eye . :-)
On a trail blazer 250 that dies off in a hurry compression loss is a likely culpret .

If it just quit running all of a sudden you may want to look at the simple things first. Make sure you did not knock the kill switch into the open position. Not trying to be smart cause I bet we have all done that at one time or another. May not be the problem but you never know.
