Default Compression test - HELP!

I have a 2005 Trailblazer that just quit running. I have tried several things to see if I can get it running again, but it has become clear I need to do a compression test. How exactly do I do that? Keep in mind I am a novice. Thanks, Dario

Default Compression test - HELP!

you will need a compression gauge , and it should read between 120-125 pounds for the trailblazer . check compression with ignition off and the throttle open . if compression reads low , put two teaspoonsof oil down the sparkplug hole and recheck . if compression improves a bunch ...get out the wrenches .
