I have a sportsman 500 carb right now and looking at geting a new sportsman 800. Will i notice a diffrence in them? The bigest thing i wanted was efi.

take off power is a big differnce and more top end speed. gas milage is alot less though. probably only about 60 +- lbs differnce between the 2 i think.

I have a scrammy 500 and an 800 efi. The best way to put it is that it feels like there is a throttle stop on the scrammy when I push the throttle full tilt compared to my 800.

EFI makes a huge difference. My 06 500 efi has the exact same take-off, mid-range, and top speed as my bro's 05 600 twin carb. They are the same in virtually every aspect..... except two, his exhaust sounds cooler with the twin, but I get WAY better mpg on mine.
Having said that though, no 500 is gonna be close to an 800, stock for stock.

this why i heard they stopped making the 600 because the efi 500 is just about the same in performance. to me its like comparing a v8 vs a 4 cycl. in cars. take off power is everything between them.
