Sportsman fuel consumption
I only have 12 hours on my 07 X2 500 Deluxe and have gotten 23+ mpg in 2WD riding on gravel roads and about 12 mpg in AWD low range. Gas gauge wholly inaccurate, so I'm taking it back under warranty for a new one, but from what others have posted here, they may all be bad.

guitar picker,i think you are right ,none of them work right. i've read on 3-4 other sites about people running 120-130 miles on a tank with the x2. i don't hear any good things about the 700 or 800 and fuel mileage. everyone i know say they suck the gas.
2 different dealers told me that the 500 was the most fuel effiecent atv polaris makes for it size. with a winch this thing weighs 833 lbs thats way heavyer then most 500.

I agree with GuitarPicker on the fuel gauge. They aren't broke. They just don't work very well. Mine will show full when I park it. Next time I start it up it will show a quarter tank. I take a flashlight (wife told me to quit using my cigarette lighter) look in the tank, and it will have only a quarter tank.

Big thanks to all of you for your replies.
It seems that some get quite a lot from a full tank of gas (120 miles), while others not quite all that much...
I guess that, like most vehicles, it depends on the way you ride it.
The problem is the way I have rode mine so far, not very hard or on technical terrain, because I'm taking it easy since I'm breaking it in.
I believe I won't be able to get more than 60 miles out of a full tank. Of course, the gas gauge can be way off and I might still have a lot of fuel left...
Next time I ride it, I will be taking some fuel with me and I will ride it until I run out of fuel, just to see how much will it do.
Again, many thanks for all the help.
